A plain crew in brushed lambswool: soft, a little hairy, warmer than its weight suggests, and cut close enough to wear under a jacket.
Brushed lambswool sheds a few fibres onto dark clothes for the first wears, and it is scratchier than merino against bare skin. Most people wear a tee under it.
Pick a size before adding it.
Lambswool is the first clip of a young sheep, so the fibre is short and soft. Brushed after knitting, it gets a light halo that traps air – which is where the warmth comes from.
Cut on the men's pattern with a set-in sleeve, a regular body and a 5 cm rib at the hem and cuffs. It sits close enough to go under the canvas jacket without bunching.

The fabric weight on the page is exactly what turned up. I have stopped trusting photos and started trusting grams, and this shop gives you grams.
Second order. The size guide measurements were spot on, which sounds basic until you have returned three things elsewhere that were not.
Did exactly what the “worth knowing” note said it would. I would have preferred it not to, but I would much rather be told before I buy.
